My oldest daughter’s go-to drink is the Manhattan. I was surprised when she choose that, because I’d never had one before. It’s a simple cocktail with only four ingredients. We feel this version is very well balanced. Enjoy! ~Elizabeth

Manhattan
Ingredients:
2 1/2 ounces Whiskey (See Tips)
3/4 ounce Sweet Red Vermouth
2 dash Angostura Bitters
Ice
1 Maraschino Cherry
Directions:
In a cocktail shaker combine ice with Whiskey, Vermouth, and Angostura Bitters. Stir. Do NOT shake! You don’t want a foamy Manhattan! Strain into a small cocktail glass or champagne coupe and add a cherry.
Tips:
We used Canadian Whiskey, but you can also use Bourbon or Rye. The glass is vintage. It was made by Fostoria and the pattern is called Contour. I bought mine on eBay.
